Program Note: The Pathway and the Sound was inspired by childhood memories of growing up on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. Frequent time spent at Caumsett State Park allowed for finding various hidden, wooded pathways that would lead to gentle bluffs overlooking the Long Island Sound. The experiences of walking through these pathways in the summer can be a revelation; areas that are surrounded by scores of trees and thick vegetation suddenly give way to the peaceful expanse of the shoreline and sea.
