Composer and pianist Sameer Ramchandran has performed in the New York, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara areas in ensembles and in solo performances. As a composer for film, he scored the independent feature "Off Duty" (2007) and the more recent short "What Happened on the Fourth Date" (2008), both directed by Vijay Mathew.
In the spring of 2006, he released the CD Roundabout with his piano trio on Roverbird Recordings. His music has been performed by the University of California at Santa Barbara's Ensemble for Contemporary Music and has been heard in radio broadcasts across the United States, Europe and Australia. He has also had entire concert programs devoted to his work. In 2006, Ramchandran formed Roverbird Music to serve as an outlet for various musical ventures pertaining to new music.
